- Descaling, cleaning, and rust removal
- Cleaning dairy and brewery equipment
- Cleaning metal and ceramics
- Catalyst for esterification process; reacted with cyclohexylamine + addition of NaOH = sodium cyclamate, artificial sweetener
- Dye and pigment manufacture
- Chlorine stabilisation in swimming pools
- Electroplating
- Bleaching agent
- Precursor to therapeutic drug components
- Coagulator for urea-formaldehyde resins
- Ingredient in fire extinguishing media. Sulfamic acid is the main raw material for ammonium sulfamateÂ
