Sorbitol (also known as Glucitol) is sugar-free, low calorie and non-cariogenic ingredient,  used as a bulk sweetener or a compression agent in sugar-free confectionery.
Sorbitol can be used with many food ingredients such as syrups, deserts, baked goods, confectionary and fats, such as sweets, frozen desserts, cookies, cakes, jams, icings and fillings.
Sorbitol is used in many sugar-free, low-calorie and diabetic products. It has a very low calorific value and a low Glycaemic index.

PHARMACEUTICAL / COSMETICS APPLICATIONS
Similar to glycerin, Sorbitol is a humectant and slip agent.
