What are Epoxy Curing Agents?

There is a wide range of epoxy curing agents, which offer an even wider range of properties to the cured epoxy system. From aliphatic and cyclo-aliphatic amines to polyamide systems, all available in simple forms or with modification, and from imidazole based to mercaptan or mannich based systems. There are accelerators available to further enhance curing rates and there are also water based systems which offer lower VOC levels and improved environmental options. By choosing the correct Epoxy Resin and curing agent or mix of curing agents, users are able to control pot-life, cure speed, adhesive properties, water and chemical resistance as well as finished appearance of the cured epoxy system. Flexibility can be modified, as can permeability and UV resistance of the finished product.
